Does anyone know a place to get a Hobie 16 directly into the water from the trailer in Long Beach? I just got a Hobie and have read about the beach access at Claremont, but I don't have a beach dolly. I'm itching to get my boat into the water and would like to do so somewhere like that (behind a breakwater) for my first few sails.

Thanks!

I drove around today and talked to a few people and found a couple of options. Davies boat ramp is one, which will allow me to get the boat into the water right off the trailer and provides an easy place to park a trailer. Also, just a hundred yards further south than the Claremont beach access, there's a beach access at Leeway Sailing Center on the opposite side of Ocean, next to a kayak rental. That location allows the trailer to get MUCH closer to the water than Claremont, and it doesn't cost anything to use. The downside is having to find street parking with the trailer.
