Hey, I have been sailing my hobie 16 off Carolina beach for a year now and was wondering if there was a better access to the water. Finding the time to drop the boat off, then return the trailer home or hide it before even starting to rig the boat eats into my sailing time. I spend more time rigging than sailing most days. (3 hours rigging/un-rigging including drop off and parking) I would love to find a place to leave her mast up or a ramp that I can sail out of. Wrightsville Beach has a few hobies on the sound side but it all seems to be private. |

Wrightsville banned cats on the beach years ago. It's a sad thing given it was once one of the biggest hobie sailing beaches in NC. The Division 9 championships was held there in the early '90s. Finding a decent place to keep your boat mast up is in that area is tough. |
