I posted this to the Getaway forum earlier today before I saw this forum for sailing locations.

I'm looking for suggestions for places to sail in early April. It's too cold in VA to sail until late May but I've been thinking about a 7 day trip to FL, or Gulf Coast. I'm not really a beach sailer so I'm looking more for lakes or protected water. I usually sail on Currituck Sound at the Outer Banks of NC or on local lakes in western VA.

Thanks for your input.
