Hi Everybody,

I recently bought a Hobie Cat, Twixxy model.

The problem I am having is that lower rudder castings no longer fits on the pintles.

Please see below:

At first the castings slipped on to the pintles easily. However I left the boat in the water a few weeks and when I came back, the castings no longer fit.

I tried WD-40 and eventually "tapped" them in with a rubber mallet. However, now one of the casting developed a crack.

The Pintles and castings seem misaligned.

Any advice would be very helpful.

Hi Tim

Thanks for the heads up.

The link should work now. I made the image public.

Please let me know what you think.

Likely bent the pintels.

Thanks for the reply mmiller. If its a bent pintel, should I just try to bend it back in shape? Any thing to watch out for?

You would have to remove them from the boat as not to stress the transom.
