 Post subject: Comp Tip Repair

What are the comp tips made out of? Just epoxy resin and ? oz cloth. I know they need to be painted to help with uv protection. Maybe flat black Awlgrip. This is for a Getaway.

If you are "religious" about covering the comptip with a good quality material like Sunbrella canvas when not sailing, you should never need to paint or re-coat it. I used a Sunbrella canvas cover on my 18s comptip from the first day they came out and were required to compete. When I sold the boat last September the tip still looked new.
