Redoing a H14 (with a sail number of 3500 or similar - 1980's?) and the rudders are wooden and eaten a bit by borer.

No worries - sanding up nicely and I'm going to fill them, stain them black, then (probably) expoy-paint them.

Anyone know how they were done originally? Was there a layer of glass on there? Were they painted? My H16 has nice f/glass black rudders, the H16 wooden ones seem very lightweight in comparison.

Not factory stock. We didn't do wooden ruders on the 14. Either the rudders were custom built or maybe the boat is actually a 3.5? That one had wood rudders I hear.

A 3.5? Interesting - what is that?
