I have some rust stains on my 16 sails. What is the best way to clean them? The stains are against white sails.

Good morning T&Q-
Somewhere, sometime in this last year I posted some sail cleaning tips and other maintenence issues involving the mundane necessity of "cleaning" stuff.
If you can get your hands on a plastic 55 gal drum it would help in sail cleaning. West Marine has many products for cleaning. One of them requires soaking the sail with occasional agitation (I guess you have to walk up to it and tease it  :) ). One of them actually helps put some life back into the sail material.
Will they remove rust? I don't know, BUT be careful how hard you work on a spot as it may do more damage than good to the cloth itself and it may be better living with the color than a weak spot. Think of it as customization...
Good luck!
