Post subject:  tiller extension hitting main sail lines

Back rigging transverse interferes with the tiller extension while jiving or coming about. The lines for the main sail block the tiller extension and you have to fool with it to get it to were you can actually sail again. Is there a quick fix for this problem?

I'm not sure if what you are describing is a "problem" per se or just the way that the boat works.

Helps to know which boat you are talking about. All boats but the Wave have the tiller extension behind the main sheet / traveller. As part of the process of tacking or jibing, you switch the tiller from one side to the other by swinging it around behind the boat.

You can see the tiller trailing backwards in this photo:

On the Wave, there's no traveller, and the tiller / tiller crossbar is in front of the mainsheet.

Hey Matt,
How long you been painting your toe nails???
Oh, and how do you use the tiller in that position??
Just trying to pick up some tips.

That's the magic of Google Image Search.

You never know what you're going to get when you search for "Hobie Tiller."

That photo came from some couple's on-line photo album with pictures from one of their vacations.

Oh, and I stopped painting my toenails years ago. Just a phase.
