Ok, I have a Hobie 3.5. I have cut a h-14 boom to fit it and now I have run into a problem that may end up scrapping my whole rebuild. Pretty much have the whole boat together with the exception of the battens and a lawn moving accident tore the mast base casting off. I had the stupid casting but it seems to have dissapeared. The biggest issue is that the 3.5 mast and step are quite different from the 14/16. The mast profile is the same as the side bar profile on the 14/16 I belive. How difficult would it be to modify a 14 step and bottom casting to make it fit? Would fiberglass filler work good enough to fill in the extra space. If anyone has a boat apart will a side rail actually fit in the mast base hole?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Of course if you happen to have a broken/unwanted/delaminated/etc 3.5 and would not mind parting witht the mast base I would love to take it from you. :D

I believe the mast base for the Hobie 12 MonoCat is the same as the 3.5. Lots more MonoCats out there.

Anyone parting out a monocat? Looking for the mast base and possible some main sheet hardware.
Thanks

Wow, looks like an impossible part to find. Looks like I will have to get rid of the boat at this point. Not really worth having a part machined just for the base.
