Post subject:  How to prevent the need for some hull repairs...

The lake I sail most often at is Lake Monroe in Bloomington IN.Indiana has experienced a very dry summer and the lake level is well below it's normal pool level by many feet.Hence that nice cove at Paynetown has revealed a mine field on rip rock that has accumulated for many years. Many of those smaller rip rocks are from mischievous kids throwing them in and many are from power boaters that move very heavy rocks to hold their anchors in place for the weekend and of coarse simply leave those rocks dangerously behind.
By definition ,we beach cats like to beach our sailboats!Large rocks left laying around the beach in and out of the water do chip and damage our fiberglass hulls.
A friend of mine and I spent the day clearing out 72 wheelbarrows of rip rock for my favorite cove.
Come on down to Paynetown State recreation Area this fall and enjoy a safe cove for catamarans...and a few cold ones on me.
