Just picked up a 77? H14 in decent shape. Only biggie I have found is that one of the bow tang screws is pulled free and the hole is stripped.
I understand the later boats had an aluminum plate to tap into.
This boat has the old style 4 bolt bow tangs. Is there aluminum in there that I can drill out and tap a size or 2 bigger or how should I fix????

Thanks!!

Yes, it has a plate of aluminum you can tap to a larger size.
