WoW! Thats a pretty intense repair, In my humble opinion, a lot more holes than I'd care to drill. Its probably solid as a rock now. |

It illustrates, with fiberglass, pretty much anything can be repaired it you take the time and do the work. Last year in Ocean Springs I was setting up at the same time as a local fellow with an early Hobie 18 that looked like it had a really really bad case of the measles. There must have been a thousand injection holes all over the hulls, not just the decks but the sides as well. I mentally wrote the boat off as any competition thinking that it must be 100+ pounds overweight and "lumpy", the injection sites hadn't been particularly smoothed out and not covered with anything. Well that boat (and the young sailing instructor driving it) kicked my Ass during the weekend. Lesson learned. |
