I just discovered a pencil-size hole in the mast of my SE-21. I store it inside during the winter, so I'm not sure what caused it. There appears to be an orange matter inside the hole. I have a couple other small pits. Does anyone have any suggestions to repair this?

I buddy who builds helicopters recommends Devcon Aluminum Putty.

He gave me a 1lb. can of it that I used on an old 16 mast. It worked perfect...now 10 years on...

Assuming what you are describing is a hole caused by corrosion, I would guess that the damaged area of the base aluminum extends significantly farther than the extent of the hole itself. I would see if you can peek inside the mast somehow or poke around the hole with a screwdriver to see if more material breaks away. I would also look around all stainless fittings (possibly remove and look under them) to see if there are more corroded areas.
