I noticed this crack at the end of the season. The crack extends up both sides of the rudder. Wondering how to repair it.

I'll clean the crack and apply J-B Weld. Will also look for a replacement. Thanks for looking.

I've had to do similar rudder repairs:

1) One or two long screws that span the crack should be used

2) The bolt hole pictured is elongated; Drill it out and install a metal bushing. While you are at it, do the same to the other rudder bolt hole also. Otherwise, weather helm will increase (and pressure on your repaired rudder) as the slotted hole continues to lengthen.

Thanks for the suggestions. You may have solved a problem I've been having with increased weather helm, especially when I raise my dagger boards. I removed the other rudder and the bottom hole is elongated even more than the one shown in the picture. I'll follow through with the screws and bushings. Thanks again.
