Hi

I have a old hobiecat 14 and are soft, I know which products I can use since in my pais Venezuela little variety exists, the problem is the delamination?

Probablamente quieres usar unidirectional fiberglass para el interior y bidirectional fiberglass para uno o dos capas en el exterior.

Yo entiendo lo que tu me quieres decir, pero necesito conocer que tipo de recina puedo usar, porque en venezuela no tengo mucha variedad, el producto git rot no lo consigo.

Yo puedo usar la resida de la fibra de vidrio?

Puedo usar esta tecnica para un area grande?

Muchos veces quando los (hulls) son suaves (soft? lol ) delamination es la problema. Hay unos cosas que puedes tratar que arreglar esta problema. * Puedes instalar unos "inspection ports" encima de los hulls para revisar el interior de los hulls. Si puedes ver areas que se mira dañados / delaminated tienes que secar todo el interior del hull. Cuando es bien seca, puedes usar marine epoxy (www.westsystem.com) y possiblemente bidirectional fiberglass para arreglar las problemas. Si la problema es peor, es possible que vas a tener que removar el gelcoat en el area de la problema y removar el fiberglass dñado, lijar mucho y poner unos capas nuevas de fiberglass. Probablamente quieres usar unidirectional fiberglass para el interior y bidirectional fiberglass para uno o dos capas en el exterior. Despues puedes poner gelcoat nuevo para hacer el barco mirar bonito otra ves. Espero que me puedes entender. Jaime

Si, mejor que lo mio. ¿Puedes comprar el Git Rot en el internet o no? Yo creo que el Git Rot esta bien porque esta muy (delgada?) y por eso puede entrar en todos los poros de la espuma. (¡Ay! ¿Me entiendes?) Si no puedes comprar Git Rot, creo que puedes usar el West System epoxy con el 105 Resin y 206 slow hardener (por que es endurecedor de poca viscosidad. (?)) Pienso que este combinacion puede ser casi lo mismo (de el Git Rot), pero yo no soy experto de epoxy y probablamente hay otras personas que te pueden enseñar mejor que yo. --------------------------------------- (In English) Can you buy Git Rot on the internet? I think it's supposed to be good for this because it's a very thin epoxy and because of this it can get through all the pores of the foam. If you can't get Git Rot, I think you could probably use the West System epoxy with 105 resin and 206 Slow Hardener because it's low viscosity. I think this combination could be the same as the Git Rot, but I'm not an epoxy expert and I'm sure there are other people that can tell you better than I. Regards, Jim

Tienes que decirnos como grande es "la zona grande," por que creo que depende. Si el area es muy grande, yo pienso que debes ponder mas fibra de vidrio y epoxy para hacerlo mas fuerte; pero otra ves yo nunca he hacido ese cosa; pero yo y mi amigo hicimos un rudder nuevo. You need to tell us how big is this "big area" you speak of. If it's really big then I think you'll need to put more fiberglass and epoxy to make it stronger. My 1982 H16 is also have 2/3 of the hulls are deliminated, what can i do?

thanks!! actually most deliminated part are at the inner side of the hull, i think not much pressure are pressing that area when it is flying, i am planning: 1. to injet glue inside the deliminated area (but it will increase the hull weight) 2. to fibreglass the area near the pylons... 3. left it here & do nothing, just repair if further crack occur...... what would you do, i need your advice, thanks.

Ngo mmm chi (I dunno) man, it's your boat, but if you have soft spots then I'd fix them, especially if you're sailing on the ocean. You'll definately be looking at somewhat increased hull weight, but I'd be wanting the strongest hulls I could get in your situation. Dui mm chi.
