Has anyone tried putting a 16 Jib on a Getaway with the intent to get better upwind performance (due to the battened Jib)? I get the furler, forestay, and lack of halyard, etc issues which would all need to be reviewed. But I'm curious how it fits outright with out modifications on the Forestay, in the foretriangle, and how it would sheet.

Has anybody tired this?

Thanks

I used a H16 jib on my Getaway for a while. (It came without a jib.) I used it with a roller fuller and without battens. It was a bit "flappy" on the leech. Worked well enough until I made a "proper" Getaway jib from a Sailrite kit. Unbattened, I doubt it gave much upwind advantage but I never did any back-to-back testing.
