The Torqueedo has been a fantastic option for the Hobie Getaway. It was a big difference from our honda 2hp we had before. Having immediate reliable power at the click of a button was a game changer. Plus no oil changes or fowled carbs. The one we used is in great shape and available below.

This Torqueedo has been garage kept and works very well. I’m selling because the Hobie Getaway sailboat I used for it is now sold and I have no longer have a use for it.

This Torqueedo comes with a lot of extras. It has a 900 watt battery, plus an extra spare Torqueedo 500 watt battery as well as a remote lever controller and finally an extra 20ft throttle cable.

Here is a full list of what is included:

- Retail $3k 1003 Torqueedo Travel
- 900Watt Torqueedo battery
- 40 watt Torqueedo standard charger
- Retail $500.00 Spare Battery 500W
- Retail $150.00 Torqueedo fast charger 120W
- Retail $300 Remote Torqueedo Throttle
- Retail $35 20ft Torqeedo throttle cable

Over $4k Retail for the whole package can be yours for $2,500. What a bargain!

How does the remote work? That sounds fascinating.

still selling the Torqueedo?

Was also wondering how you manage main sail reefing, with the standard Hobie halyard or some other system. I just acquired a Getaway and dream of trying the Everglades Challenge some day.

I had reefing grommets and sail reinforcements added by Quantum Sails. I tie a 6' pigtail to the halyard, and thus can still clip it in the fork on the mast. I roll up the sail to the 3rd batten and tie everything off. I use the standard downhaul line and hook the main block in the added reefing point on the sail.
It's a nice setup, I can solo sail in some pretty high wind, and it's actually faster than leaving the full sail up. I get a better, flatter sail shape and lose the pressure high on the mast.

Hey bbaysaylr,
I replied to your message about the motor mounts, but it's sitting in my outbox. I'll check later to see if it's sent, if you don't see it soon, let me know and I'll answer it here.
