Just a thought I had recently that I wanted to bounce off the forum: suppose one was to attach long floation device or inflatable pontoon to the underside of each wing seat on the hobie getaway, do you think this would make righting the getaway easier. If this were feasible, my concerns would be how to fasten and putting undue stress on the wing seat support system. Thank in advance for your input!

I think it's an interesting idea. Fastening it shouldn't be that hard. You could attach it through the lacing of the wing seat cover under the seat. As for undue stress, I don't think that's much of a concern as it would just serve to provide floatation when capsized. I'm wondering if you would plan to keep it inflated all the time or just inflate in the event of a capsize. If the latter, how would you inflate? You could use a pool winter cover water bag, the blue ones (filled with air of course) as a cheap test to see if and how it would work. The would be the right dimensions. I think they can be found for under $10 and can be had in 3', 4' and 8' lengths.
