Ok, here is a story about how tough the getaway hulls and mast are. This summer we went for what was probably our 20th trip or so on our new/used 2002 getaway. We were at a boat ramp we had never been to before. We stopped at the “ready areaâ€

A testament to the Non-Conductive "CompTip" included on the Getaway! If not for this... you may have been shocked.

Yes, I enjoyed the comp tip very much, and it did not break. Prior to this experience I wondered what kind of idiot would run a mast into power lines, and now that I know it's me I'm very grateful for the comp tip.

I launched at a new ramp this week that I had never been to before. I stepped mast in the "setup" area, jumped in the truck to drive to the ramp. I had just gotten the clutch all the way out when all those warning stickers and messages in the owners manual caused an alarm in my head to go off. Stopped the truck, got out and looked around. No wires.

The point is: First I thought Hobiecat inc. was being really paranoid and "lawerly" with all the overhead wire warnings - I have changed my mind. Thanks for reminding me to check overhead.
