Fate is conspiring against me this year ...

I was all set to spend two days sailing over Memorial day weekend. While prepping the boat on the driveway I remembered I wanted to add a set of clips to the rudder bar to keep the stick out of the way while doing the launch thing. After a series of bad judgments and a broken drill bit I ended up driving a hole all the way through my finger. Needless to say sailing was canceled.

A week has gone by and the finger is now much better. Was preparing to sail Sunday when I found my daughters brownie troop is over for a sleep over at our house. So I am here until the girls are picked up.

I live in California and it looks like I will not get my first sail before June.

Keeping fingers crossed for next weekend.

haha I feel your pain though not quite as much as a drill bit through the finger. We go camping at lake mcconaghey (NE) every year which is pretty popular for sailing. This year everyone already had plans :( I need new friends

After the finger heeled my spare time was consumed with moving.

My first sail in '09 wasn't until October ... but I have managed to get out every weekend so far.

I now keep the boat stored mast up 3 miles from my house which makes sailing FAR more convenient.

I don't miss the clouds either. Up here in Oakley I am far enough inland to avoid the Marine layer.

I am looking forward to a very full calendar next year.
