Dear MelbAust I was sorry to see no one had replied to your enquiry, but I think you may be the first Aussie to post on this forum. I am happy to say that I own a getaway and its a great boat. I am sorry to say that we live in Bathurst, (Australia), nowhere near Melbourne (as Im sure you know) but at least on the same continent. I have had my boat for almost a year now but I have never seen another getaway sailing in Australia. I was glad to read that another Aussie had taken the plunge and bought one. I wondered how many other Australian getaway owners there are. Maybe we should source them out and get together some time. Ambitous, I know. My family (wife & 4 kids) sail ours and we have just joined the sailing club at Wallerawang near Lithgow for some mixed fleet racing with up to 5 of us racing on the boat. Its about the only dam in our area with some water left in it (drought conditions). Good luck with the search for another getaway owner sailing on the bay. Eugene (Bathurst, Australia) |
