UV Tolerance?

In what way was someone commenting? The Wave has been out for many years and I have never heard issue about UV. The plastics have UV inhibitors mixed in.

thanks Mat I found these posts in the frorm "Posted: Fri Apr 30, 2004 7:44 am Post subject: Getaway Advice

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm getting a fully loaded 2001 next weekend. The cooler lids are UV damaged, can I get replacements with the square lid? MIne have the cup holders, but aren't big enough for koozies

No, bummer dude. I bought a Getaway that sat 300 yards away from Galveston Bay for two years, and was coated with salt grime. The halyard was left exposed and there's a lot more UV damage than rust. Maybe spray the nut with cold galvanization

Ok,

That makes sense. The hull materials are not the issue, but the attached hardware might be. I think the worst UV Damage has been to the old cooler lid (Cup holder insert). Those are replaceable. Rust is not a UV issue and normally just a cosmetic problem. There is a cleaner material called Magica that disolves rust stains. The lines and such may bleach in the sun, but the materials should still be strong.
