Post subject:  rig slop?

Finally got to sail 2003 Get Away, the mini van of Catamarans, good boat for family and teaching. Questions about rig slop, as a h-14, 16, 18, 17 sailor and past hobie dealer answers can be detailed if necessary. Tighten rig after setup?, like an 18 or 17 ?. Was looking at the post about extreme weather helm and was wondering if mast rake was the problem as the two ( rudder rake and mast rake) are related. Also would love to know how hulls are attached, just friction? and tramp lacing? Only bolts I see are for the formost crossbar. Seems to be play in hull to crossbar connection. Have not found detail of crossbar end caps internal connection. Really like the boat, also how much weight to right Getaway? Harder to pull across sand than other hobies but i am older also, mast no harder than any other hobie to step. All in all, Hobie seems to have produced another great boat for the family, even in 15 knot.

Late reply but the rig slop seems to be there all the time,i tighten mine fairly well but with no dolphin striker the rig does come a bit loose in windy conditions, plus the shrouds stretch over time and should be replaced every couple of seasons or depending on how much you use the boat.On a reach travel out and sheet hard, this stops the main and jib from ballooning out and making the boat hard to control.
Tasmania's only getaway sailor.
