Post subject:  Finally got a Getaway!

After looking for over a year for the right boat I finally found my Getaway this weekend.

Image

It is a 2001 in good shape. It needs a few items replaced but I think I got a pretty good deal!

Included All of the Following:
2001 Performance Trailer
Wing Seats (slightly faded on top, need lacing line replaced)
Front and Rear Trampolines (per PO 1 year old, front tramp seems older, both need to be tightened)
Cat Trax Beach Dolly
EZ-step mast raising kit
New Main and Jib sheets
Jib Snorkel
Main sail (excellent condition)
Jib (not as nice but still good)
Carbon Fiber Extension Hiking Stick
Single Trapeze Line (need to replace the bungee line)
Magic Marine Adjustable Padded Trapeze Harness - full not half - almost new
Righting Bag
Hobie soft cooler
Diamond Plate Trailer Box
Brand New Spare Tire
New trailer mast cradle

I am working on the rudders now. Trying to figure out what they are made of exactly. I will prob create a new thread for that question with pics. The mast also has water in it, need to figure out how to get that out. Also need to wash out the hulls, the PO kept the plugs in...

Any tips, hints, or advice would be most appreciated!

My Uncle in MN is looking for a boat like yours. How much did you pay? Its nice it came with a stepping kit. Your patience payed off.

And what color are your rudders.

I paid $3750.

The rudders are white. They seem pretty flexible not super stiff like some others I have read about.

They need a pretty good cleaning. I don't know if they are fiberglass or just coated in something that is fiber reinforced, but I definitely got glass in my arm when I picked them up the first time. You can also see the sparkles when they are in the sun.

This closer up shot might help someone identify the material.

Here is one after my first go at cleaning them.

I am hesitant to use anything too harsh on them until I know what they are made out of...
