I purchased a Honda 2HP motor for my boat. I will be taking long trailer trips this summer and would rather not transport the motor in the trunk because of the gasoline smell. I thought of mounting it to the trailer next to the cat box, but it will take a pounding due to the limited suspension on the trailer. I was wondering about transporting the motor on the trampoline. I thought that might be a softer ride than bolted to the trailer, and it should be light enough that it would not hurt the tramp. I am wondering what other owners do about this?

I have mine mounted to the mast support at the front of the trailer. Much less bouncing close to the hitch and it keeps the motor upright. Just bolt a short piece of 2x6 to the mast support and clamp the motor to that. Been traveling about 140 miles round trip every other weekend through the summer for 2 years with no problems.

That's a great idea! Thanks Keith. You wouldn't happen to have a picture you could share, would you?

Best I could find. Boat is in pieces right now from winter storage and trailer is covered.
