Post subject:  Help w/ broken bolt to hold rudder into back of hull? 2002

One of the 2 bolts that holds the metal piece that holds the top of the rudder to the back of the hull sheared off. I have a 2002 getaway with the old rudder design (I think).

Does anybody know what size, length, etc. this bolt is?

Does it just screw into the plastic or is there something behind the plastic to catch the bolt. Is there a washer.

Any other help appreciated. Any tips at removing the sheared off bolt. There is not enough exposed to use a pliers.

Thanks, Doug

See older post just down the page (broken bolt), there is lots of good information about your problem.

Roy,
The "broken bolt" post seemed to be about a different bolt. The one I broke is one of two that goes into a metal piece that holds up the top of the rudder. The bolt goes into the plastic at the end of the hull.

Thank

It's a boat not a trailer ! Your "hull bolts" are called pintles. Part numbers are
90880211 for the upper pintle and 90880221 for the lower. MSRP is $24.99
