Went sailing twice(where its warm) with 4 adults and 2 small grandkids. Felt lower in the water than I remember the second time. Days later checked and found the port hull really full of water: almost 5 minutes to drain. Took it for a short test sail with just skipper and crew and found just a couple of cups of water. Per Mat Miller direction, I just pressure tested the port hull with a vacuum cleaner and found air shooting out the storage box drain hole. When I inserted the drain plug the air shot out the hull inner drain hole. I looked for a diagram or a parts list for the tube connecting the box to the drain but couldn't find it. What can I do to repair the leak? |

You could put your camera down through the access port to see whats going on in there. There are no parts listed for that in catalogs, but I would bet on a loose fitting or tube that has disconnected. |

Thanks Matt I found the problem. The plastic pipe between the hull and the storage/cooler came loose from its elbow: https://plus.google.com/photos/10634076 ... 2491026175. It looks dirty but no obvious breaks or cracks. Can I put it back with some silicon sealer or try and get a house clamp around it? I'm not sure if I have enough access to get my hand close to the tightening screw. |

Possible the fitting is installed onto the thru hull then tightened to the hull? Not sure the process. I can ask the factory for guidance next week if needed. |

Hi Matt Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, any advice from the factory would be welcome. The fitting at inside of the hull seems to be fine. The hose came loose at the cooler box elbow. I should have clearance to put on a hose clamp and tighten it with a short screwdriver. I couldn't get the inspection hatch open on the other hull. I used dry lube, ice on the cap, and light hits with a plastic pipe and hammer but no movement. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help. Lew |

More force? Its a tough one down in there. Maybe you can make a tool from a piece of wood with a couple nubs that has lever arm or allows better grip? |

Look for a gas cap remover. I got one for my wife because I always tighten the cap 3 clicks like you're supposed to, and she can't open it then. There are a variety of styles, make sure one you get has a slot big enough to fit over the hatch handle. |
