Post subject:  Jib furler yoke

Hi Everyone,

The other day while sailing, the attachment of the right bridle the the jib furler yoke snapped apart. I see that you can buy the yoke for only $21, verses replacing the entire roller furler for $275. Is this something that is easily replaced? Or is it recommended to replace the entire roller furler?

And if I don't need to replace the entire thing, is it recommended to buy the tune-up kit, since the yoke failed, maybe this indicates the other parts will fail soon?

We have only had the boat for about 6 months, and I think it is about 5 years old.

Thanks!

Very unusual to fail a yoke. Never seen one fail myself. Maybe loaded in an unexpected way?

You can replace and since only 5-6 years old. I don't think other parts are an issue.

Requires the removal of a couple Darby rings: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=43470
