First time out this year. The bolt rope on the mainsail luff easily fits into the mast groove, but I have difficulty raising the sail.
Is there some type of lubricant I can apply to the bolt rope to make raising it easier? Any other suggestions?

you can use "Sail Ease" or get teflon spray from your local hardware store.

A few times a year with the mast down, run a rag with some cleaner up and down inside the sail track to get out any grime. Store your mast with the slot facing down to keep bird crap ect out of it. Some guys I sail with take an old cheap candle and rub it all over the entire bolt rope on the sail to ease in raising it.

Don't forget simple technique... most of the issue is how it's being done:

FAQ: Outhaul. Be sure the outhaul is fully released before hoisting.

This gets me the most. It always surprises me at how much of a difference it makes, especially the last few feet.

C'ept... there is no outhaul or boom on the Getaway, so disregard those points if confusing.
