I'm thinking of swapping to the Baby Bob for 2 reasons.
- It's about half the weight of the Mama Bob, which means I can probably step the mast single handed. Right now I can lift it myself if I don't have the Mama Bob on, and can almost lift it with the Bob on.
- I have read that the Baby Bob will let the mast settle further in the water, which will slow the wind induced drift of a capsized Getaway. So far, I haven't had the boat blow away from me, but it is a concern.
So, Matt or other Hobie people, will the Baby Bob keep the Getaway from turtling?

Don't know about the turtling, but the Baby Bob is the OEM float for the T2 which has a similar size, weight, sail area, and mast length as the Getaway. I'd guess the weight difference in the bobs can only be 1-3 lbs.

I know, but it's an important weight difference to me, if I don't have to rig the mast stepper to raise my mast! Without the Mama Bob, I can lift the mast with no help. With it, I can almost lift it, but not quite. Maybe I just need to do more push-ups! ;-)
