The mast on my Getaway snapped when the wind tossed the boat over on the ground. Where can I get another mast--new or used?

You probably won't be able to find a used Getaway mast...however, you can replace with a hobie 16 mast with some effort. Peruse the list and you'll see posts from folks who've done it. You can usually find hobie 16s (complete boats) for less than a replacement mast.

The process of making the change involves making the mast base from the Getaway fit onto the bottom of the H16 mast. Before doing that, though, you will likely want to cut off some of the mast at the bottom so the hound will be at the same height as before (so you can continue to use the Getaway shrouds). The mast will then still be a little taller so you'll have to add an extension to the halyard so it hooks correctly (or raise the mainsail higher in light wind days). If you want the ball on top, you also have to modify the mast head to accommodate it. You could also use the mast at full height and buy new shrouds (or add extensions to the Getaway shrouds).

I mention all this because money IS an object to me...

When I first got my getaway, I dropped the mast and broke the tip off. I brought it to a guy who works on corvettes for a living and he ended up fixing it and reinforcing to where it is stronger than it was from the factory. Depending on where it broke, it may be fixable.

a mast from a hobie 17 would be even better, same base as the getaway!
