Hi all, as winter is comming not only in GOT but also in Spain I would like to make a cover for the getaway. As I have the boat in an Island far from home I cant take the meassures to make a pattern from my sailman. By any chance any of you have a pattern with the meassures for the mast and shrouds etc. done yet? Do you consider this PVC covers suitable? https://www.dancovershop.com/es/product ... fIEALw_wcB Kind regards. |

A word of caution - put drain holes in the cover. I bought the tarp type cover for my Getaway, and the first time we had a heavy rain, the rain pooled in the tramps and caused them to sag a LOT. I cut slits in the cover so the water will drain out. |

The good news is that the boat is weather resistant on its own. You only need to cover it for UV protection (lines, tramps, sails...). I bought a heavy duty tarp for about $50US. 20ft by 30ft. I did have a rear mast rest, so that's why I needed it so wide. I replaced the tarp every year since pvc fabric isn't robust it got frayed in the breeze. I used mine all season long and it was stored next to the house...if you are going to just leave it until next spring, you might consider disassembling-it'll store easier/smaller/safer that way. |

Not really a pattern, but some ideas for homemade cover. I made this one in 2015 it lasted 2 years in some serious wind. http://utahsummersailing.blogspot.com/2 ... taway.html |

Another important note is that grommets will rub on the plastic and leave permanent black marks I sewed bits of cloth over the grommets on the inside of the tarp which protected the plastic. |
