Well, here it is at last, after trying for a very long time there is now an official yardstick in australia for the getaway.. I also managed to have the wave and T2 included as well.
So, here they are..
Hobie Getaway-with wings and front tramp removed 88
Hobie T2 86.5
Hobie wave cat 104
Hobie wave sloop 99
Hobie wave turbo spinnaker 97
So remember this is from the Australian Sailing 2017 updated VYC yardsticks, hopefully this will encourage more of us aussie sailors to get our awesome plastic boats onto the race course more often! And hopefully our friends over there in the states can work something out from these yardsticks and participate in racing a bit more.

From one very happy Tasmanian Getaway sailor :D

To be honest i thought the official yardstick for a getaway would've caused a bit of excitement, had a lot of back and forth emails with the handicapper at Yachting Australia to make this possible, at least it will be nice to rock up to a sailing regatta and have an official number for the boat and not be classed as something else! Just remember though this yardstick is without wings and front tramp....and two up, one trap one hike.
The yardstick was calculated using the schrs system, its 88.

The SCRHS has posted a Getaway number for a while. http://www.schrs.com/ratings.php
Perhaps that's why it didn't generate any excitement-y'know, old news.

Ah OK I see.... The yardstick I've shown is from VYC for the Australian rating, slightly different to the one shown on the link you gave. Still, its nice to have a rating here in Australia, lost count of the amount of times I turned up at a regatta and the race officials tried to pass my getaway off as a hobie 16...
