I noticed that there is a recessed hole in the top of the mast bob. Has anyone fitted a flag up there, or maybe a wind finder?
I'm sure it's probably intended for mounting the bob on a different style of mast, that doesn't use the 4 bolt flange mounting style, but it seems like a good opportunity to mount either a flag or wind finder.

Regards, Ken

I have a safety flag from Seal that I use when towing. I found it at Charles River Canoe & Kayak in Boston. Made from durable red rubber. I've used it for a couple years on long trips and it works well. Hard part is threading the line to the flange and retrieving it to tie off the flag. It only cost $3.00.

I'm not sure if a wind indicator would be visible from the tramps or wings. The bob is pretty wide so a rather long pole would be needed to get it high enough for viewing.
