I'm looking for a used Wave to race in some club and regional class races. I understand that amount and severity of use are big factors but how old is too old? There's a 1998 near me, re-oufitted in 2020. With good hull, mast and crossmember integrity would this be too old?

Any hints on what to look for would also be greatly appreciated. It's been 10 years since I've bought a sailboat (still sailing it) and 50 years since I bought a Hobie (please don't judge me)

Many thanks for your thoughts and advice.

Older the better. You can clean the boats up pretty easily with a rotary tool and foam pads etc......
The boat of choice for some of the racers is the 1995-1997 boats.
