While solo sailing in light winds I noticed the rudder wakes (port 'n starboard) appear different. Not a smooth match like my old '16'. Could this be due to my weight on windward side? Back home I checked both rudder assemblies. It appears there is no specific port or starboard rudder. With the tiller removed, each rudder assembly can be centered with the corresponding hull. To install the tiller, it is necessary to slightly spread the rudder assemblies. This results in the rudders' leading edges having a slight toe-out.
Measured the distance between rudders - leading edge vs. trailing edge. The leading edge is approx. 3/8" wider. Reversing the rudder assemblies again results in the leading edge having approx. 1/4" toe out (wider).
Is this typical? Does it even matter? Am I missing something? If the rudders should be parallel with not toe-in or toe-out (leading edge) how is this adjusted?
