I don't either on the mast rotation, but my buddy said once he limited the rotation in heavy wind, he powered up more. All I can tell 'ya.

That may be true Chris, but the idea is to keep the boat simple like Matt says. We all have exactly the same mast rotation situation.

However, all sails are not all exactly the same. The adjustable clew will help equalize those diffences. It will not make all sails the same, but it helps, and it makes whatever sail you have a little more adaptable to various wind strengths and crew weights.

That's all.

Nope. There are two different sets of mast bases for he wave, on has rotation stops on it (Similar to the 14/16), the other (ball type) does not (more like the 17/20).
Just sayin'.....

Yeah... the old H14 mast base and step was used for a few years.

I have seen those and they really don't do much. I would rather have the ball and socket.

Just sayin'

The clew plate is not the answer, the traveler is.

Traveler? I draw the line there.
Sailing against Mr. Black Dog Racing at Indianapolis, he had a his boat tricked out but and I agree, that there is only so much you can do to these boats, and he's a good sailor BUT his boat was clearly faster and its hard to put your finger on what it was.

Mr Big/Black Dog/Cat has those (with-a-ten-foot-pole-not-touching-this-topic) solid white sails.

BTW, is anyone else seeing the F16 vs Wave thread on Catsailor? Comparing F16 to a Wave!

After all that has been said about Waves and F16s, the comments of that thread are a hoot.

Give it up, Karl! Your Wave is standing by.

Patrick is one of those guys who seems to have "The Force" with him; to make his boat do anything he wants, go anywhere, in any wind. It's as if he is truly at one with his boat, commanding it with his mind!
