Well I wanted to get out there today, but it is gusting to 30 and holding at 20 or so. A bit too much for my back. I need to find a sailing buddy in Pembroke Pines FL. Anyone interested?

Has anyone had issues with the rotomolded hulls discoloring with black spots?

Anyway. looks like a Harley day instead of sailing.

Here is a shot of my Wave without the jib up. I will post another pic next week with jib. I have concluded it does improve performance, but not much.

Please note I ditched the "wavey decals" and I think it makes for a cleaner looking boat.

I keep my tramp & seat pads covered with a tarp, but the bow tips & transoms stick out. Those areas get spotted, but I always figured it's from tree sap and/or bird droppings. I've read that "Barkeeper's Friend" or a "Magic Eraser" is good for them, though I've never tried it.

I'm in Indiana, so I can't help you as a sailing buddy. But I am headed down to Key Largo in a couple weeks for the IWCA Wave Nationals (Dec 1-4). You should join us!

It's at the Upper Keys Sailing Club. Here's the link to the NOR & info:

http://www.catsailor.com/waves/wave_nationals.html

Since this is an IWCA event, no jibs are allowed; but you can use after-market sails. It's a slightly different rules set from HCANA events, but stock boats should qualify for either class association racing.
