I'm modifying a trailer together to carry my future Wave (late Spring arrival). Can anyone provide me with the following approx specs info? 1 Width across boat from skeg to skeg: 2 Distance between the two hulls (or length of exposed tramp crossmembers when boat is assembled): 3 Distance from outer edge of one hull to the outer edge of the other: 4 Max length from bow tip to stern tip. Yes indeed, nice job on that! That looks like one of those 4x8 HarborFreight trailers, right? Here in PA, they have to be specially inspected, tagged, and titled (maybe $200 just for that) because they're a kit, so I'm on the look-out for a non-kit trailer frame that I can similarly adapt. If I get the dimensions right, I'm thinking of slinging the crossbars underneath the frame so the boat travels lower on the trailer and straddles the wheel wells for easier launch and retrieve. With this particular trailer the hulls wont QUITE clear the wheels, but I have no trouble launching it, I back it down to where the wheels are just slightly in the water (not up to the hubs) and just slide it right off, works like a charm. And yes it is a harbor freight kit trailer, but it came with a certificate from HB that I took to the tax assessor and got the plate and registration, before I ever even took it out of the box. I guess your state laws are different. |
