Ive only had 5 inquiries since listing it, and all of them have said I am asking too much.

The boat is essentially NEW and has the traveler kit, AND a trailer.. I would think the price is a bargain..


Am I not being realistic?

I think $4,500 is a STEAL! For a practically new boat, even before all the extras.

Those folks are just trying to drive you down, or they're just not familiar with a Wave (and that there's no depreciation with normal use).

Maybe it's your limited market, and others don't want to drive all the way down there to South Texas. (My parents lived in Harlingen for a while, that's a long way from anywhere!)

Glad to hear some encouragement.

Not to mention its winter time. I have a 21' party barge Im selling too, its not getting many bites either.

Not at all! Specially since you have those extras included and the trailer too. If you can hang on to it until spring, you may get what you want for it as the warmer weather and the season ramps up. Or, if you are doing any travelling north for any length of time you could try listing it there too. Good luck.

I had a tough time selling my AI. Had a BUNCH of lowball offers in the summer. Had 3 people say that they'd buy it, but because of my travel schedule, and their indecision, all 3 fell through before they could come see the boat. Finally I put it online in the winter months because I was moving, and I thought that it couldn't hurt. Got a few low ball offers, just like the summer, but around the time of the Boat Show, I got a few serious offers. Ended up getting what I wanted. Unless you NEED the money now, if you hold on to it long enough, you'll eventually get a fair price. A lot of people will be looking for a deal, and you can't blame them for that, but also keep in mind, that in some area's sailing isn't as big as it used to be. That's my problem here. Nobody really knows what these Hobie boats are all about. Those that do, will pay the fair price.

Yea, gotta have some haggle room. I guess that's what people expect when buying person/person I could probably list it for $500 and would get people saying $450 is most they will do. :roll:

I dont know how many times the conversation has been:

"So your asking $4500? whats the least You will take"

"$4500."

"oh, oh ok, well hey thanks for your time"

You are probably getting people with "flip-it" motives. They don't want the boat for themselves; they just want to pay less than it's worth so they can turn around sell it for more. Like a car dealer, they're not in the business of buying used cars for what they're worth; they want to sell it for what it's worth, and make money in the process.

Your Wave and trailer is worth at least $5500. They are at a premium. And yours is sorted out. Unless you are staving off foreclosure, hold firm.
