Post subject:  Mainsheet system forward or aft?

Should the mainsheet system be forward or aft of the tiller crossbar? Have seen videos on line with both ways. Took our Wave out yesterday on her maiden voyage here in Georgia on Lake Acworth. Weather in the high 60s with wetsuits on. It was better than I could have ever expected. Had the mainsheet blocks behind or aft of the tiller cross bar but at times the line would tangle where the arms attach to the crossbar.
This forum has been terrific to learn from and I hope to some day share my knowledge and experiences as you all have.

As far as I know, older models had the lines running aft of the crossbar whereas newer models have them forward of the crossbar. I'm not sure what the change-date was!

My Wave is a 2003 Club with what appears to be the original rudder system.

I think 2005-05 was the change.

The change was made when we designed the EZ Loc rudder system. The system has to have the tiller crossbar aft of the mainsheet / sail clew. The action of raising the rudders require lifting the tiller crossbar high up.

If you simply set up the boat and rudder system... route the mainsheet in a direct line between clew and crossbar.

EZ Loc is one large plastic housing. Rudder up/down is simply up/down on the tillers. Older systems use aluminum castings and a black plastic locking cam. Unlocking requires a short lift of the tiller and a pull forward to raise the rudder.
