Hi folks I've put together a pretty amateur video, after a great sail on new year's eve. I'm new to this video thing and it was taken on an iPhone in a cheap waterproof case, so apologies for the poor quality!

Not bad for an iphone vid mate. How do you find the Wave in the higher swells? I've been thinking about buying one to sail 1up but hear the rotomold hulls can be rough.

Thanks Matt15! I sail the Wave almost exclusively one up, and I find that it handles wind-drive chop really well. It's a pretty wet ride, but that's beach cat sailing for you. The hulls have a lot more volume in the nose than for example the H16, so less chance of pitchpole.

I used to sail a Hobie 16 in Moreton Bay and bought the Wave for down here because of the higher winds (15-20 knots is pretty typical, 20-25 some times) and it's been a great decision. The video was taken in 10 knots, and as you can see it gets along pretty well. I can easily get up on one hull in 10 knots, and I weigh about 77kg.

cheers,
stuart

Thx for the info. I'm still pretty keen on getting a Wave to sail with the kids and also solo. Hey if you ever return to Moreton Bay hit me up. We're always sailing around...;)

Dude. It's 20 degrees here. That's such a good video it makes me want to get on cold weather gear and try it anyway. And if frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their tails when they hopped...
