Where to buy parts?

My local Hobie dealer only carries kayak parts. Where are you guys buying parts online? I did a quick search and only found a handful of places. Can I buy directly from Hobie? Thanks in advance.

That's unfortunate. So far eBay has been the easiest to find parts. I have 96 with the old style rudder and H-14 mast base. I had to order the H-14 mast step link on eBay. Matt is there a cross-reference chart for the wave available? I know there is a parts diagram but I think my parts are carried over from the older Hobies. For instance my tiller arm has no pivot joint or tendon. It's just a rubberized 90 degree connection. How can I tell which parts to order?

A dealer should be able to help you figure that out. Sounds like a very old model with Hobie 14 style mast base? The 90 bed elbow is no longer available. The part guides show you "update" parts needed for that version.

Yes mine is a '96 model, very old. I see the updated parts but my concern is if my crossbar is long enough to use this conversion. I have the older aluminum cast rudder/tiller arms. What should be the length of the cross bar be if I update to the 2007 tiller joints? Thanks

The conversion gets you a new crossbar. 1954

You can bend your tiller arms inward and simply get the 1957 connector kit. That is what I would do.

I have had excellent service from Mariner Sails for several years. They are in the Dallas, TX area but they ship anywhere. You can order direct from their Web site (http://shop.mariner-sails.com/Hobie-Cats_c24.htm) and they have been extremely helpful over the phone when I have needed assistance for both my Getaway and my Wave. I live in central Florida and would have to have parts shipped to me anyway (the closest dealer is too far to drive for a parts run) so I like to simply order from their Web site.

Thank you Matt. I have seen those but unfortunately they are too far for a simple parts run. It is easier to order online. The closest Hobie dealer to me only knows kayaks and had no idea what a Wave was.

Not all "Hobie" dealers are sailing product dealers.
