Does Hobie make any other type of clevis pin and ring ding that may have some way to keep it attached to the 7 hole adjuster? My issue is I'm always cautious about dropping the pin or ring ding because it's so easy to lose.

I'm curious if Hobie makes a clevis pin with a loop on the head end so you can simply tie it to the 7 hole adjuster? If the pin had a loop or even just a hole through it then you could have a short cord connecting it to the adjuster. This way you could disconnect the forestay line and then let go of the clevis pin and ring knowing it's just going to hang there. This is the same solution used for the rudder pins that are tied to the rudder frame.

Amazon sells various stainless steel push button quick release pins with loops to attach a lanyard to. Be sure to buy the push button design as the ball /spring QRP can disengage. I ended up buying a bunch of stainless pins and quick rings at Mcmaster-Carr. The stainless rings are pretty inexpensive. I bought a bag of 50 stainless steel cotter rings for less than $10. You can lose a lot of them to cover the cost of one QRP. The pins are pretty inexpensive there as well. One thing I've learned, if you put the word "marine" in front of anything, the price can triple, or more.
