Sailing under a bridge - Will a Wave fit?

I live near the Navesink River in NJ. There's a bridge that has a 25' clearance stated in the engineering survey.

The local chart gives it a vertical clearance of 22'. That's at average high tide.

The wave says a mast of 20' but what is the on water clearance or is 20' the clearance with the boat on water? Could I make it under this bridge? Should I approach it slowly with a paddle? Hoist one of my kids up to the top of the mast and have them yell down if there's room? I'd hate to get stuck on the other side of the bridge if the tide came in Thanks for any advice and info.

Whatever you do you should film it.

20' mast, float and the height of the boat on the water. I dont have a measurement, but my guess is that you will exceed 22'.

Step the mast while on the ground, using the main sheet halyard to pull the Wave onto its side. Now you can measure real world mast clearance. Grasp the mast and slowly raise it while holding onto the mainsheet halyard. You can control the rate of rise with the mainsheet halyard.

The average high tide there is about 4 feet. So if it's close to high tide, just make sure you're healing so you'll be a little shorter...

I bought some gear from a guy on Craigslist who told me he and his buddy use to sail up to a bridge on the Intercoastal, capsize the boat, swim it under the bridge and then right it again and carry on with their day.

I know this is an old thread - but did you make it or dunk it?
