I am adapting a Hobie 16 trailer for my Wave. It has rollers on it at the moment; are cradles advisable for travelling or winter storage?

Cradles are not needed for the Wave. The hulls are probably stronger than your trailer, and definitely stronger than any cradle I know of.

Margie:

You may have trouble like I did with Mystere 4.3 The skeg keel tried to just roll off the beach wheel axle. I need to rig something up this winter.
