I have a 15 year old wave and this year the top gudgeon plate screws came out. On inspection the transom plate had coroded to the point that there was no material left to hold in the bolts..

What is the best fix for this?

1- drill through and through-bolt two new stainless bolts?
2- tap a larger bolt into the plate
3- something else

I would think thru-bolting would be the easiest and strongest solution. Use large fender washers inside the hull to help spread out the load and nyloc nuts so the screws don’t loosen.

+1... Through bolting would work.
