Hi,
I have a 2017 hobie wave mast bottom section and aft crossbeam that have a ton of water in them. I have tried storing each in different positions for weeks at a time to get the water to drain, but it has been since October. It is now May. The mast has so much water it is tough to balance when carrying on land (before putting on the boat obviously). How do I get rid of the water? I'm nervous to drill a hole randomly and then find that I have compromised the strength of the mast and beam. The boat is used at a camp.

Also, where does water get into the hulls? No matter what I do, there is water in every boat we own.

Masts can leak at the plug at the top. Water cal pool on top of the plug. The lower section heats and cools which can suck in moisture. Take the CompTip out and poke a hole through the foam plug to drain. You could then use a little air pressure into that hole to test for any other leak areas... using a soapy water test.

Re-seal with Sikaflex or 3M 5200.

Check the hull bottoms for wear. Water might be getting in under the seat pads. Peel off and re-seal using the Sikaflex or 5200.

You could drill a hole in an end cap of the rear beam and drain... check for other leaks as you did the mast section and hulls using the air and soapy water test.

Great! Thank you!
The CompTip is essentially the top section of the two part mast, yes?
