Particularly while sitting around between races, but a couple of times during a race, the mainsheet hook has flipped off my sail. I've now started taping it with electrical tape to prevent this. Does anybody have a better solution? I'm thinking of a little shock cord loop, but I can't think of how to use it. Thanks Charles ![]() |

take that hook off and use a shackel. Do that on your halyard too, that thing sucks. |

Hooks are from the original Wave concept of fast and easy rigging. As noted... they can be replaced. The classic has the one-piece trampoline and could be fully disassembled in a short time for car top or storage. We did some build demos at shows when the boat first came out. I recall 6 minutes from a pile of parts to sailing ready one time... two of us assembling the boat. The hooks were a big part of that. Bridle wire hooks, shrouds, halyard, and the mainsheet. The mainsheet doubled as the tramp tensioner, so the hook was really important there. |

Bridle wire hooks are a stroke of genius. We're agreed on that. I can pop the mast up and any casual passerby can clip on the bridle. ... but you know, ... one of those clips would work a treat on my mainsheet. And I think I have one in my boat toolbox. Thank you Matt! |
