Post subject:  Compartment under seat pad question

I have been looking at buying this Hobie wave and I have a couple of questions.

1. (my main concern) Under each seat pad, is a round compartment maybe 4-5 inches in diameter, fastened in by 5-6 screws. I am concerned how waterproof they are? I have never seen this, is this normal?

2. The seats, are not Hobie seat pads, are they as easy as just ungluing/peeling off or is it a lot of work?

3. What do you use to put the new Hobie seats back..what kind go glue?

The access ports with screws are good.

The seats have sticky back. Peel and stick.

May be hard to remove if well glued. Why remove them?

Thanks for the reply! The seat pads are worn pretty bad, not much padding left, and need replacing.

May have to scrape some of the glue off. Not too bad.
